5HTP PILLS, ANY GOOD?

That's related to seratonin, one of the main neurotransmitters in the brain (which is, among other things, associated with depression). I'm not clear on how it (allegedly) works, but as a general rule it can be VERY dangerous to take two drugs that have similar methods of action (as in, potential overdose dangerous).and in the very least you could be making your prescribed meds ineffective. So definitely talk to your doctor about the 5HTP or any other supplements BEFORE you start taking them to make sure there aren't any interactions. (Also, if you want to go off meds.why are you thinking about taking 5HTP, which is another medication? The only difference is that prescribed drugs are controlled for effectiveness, safety, and quality while random pills and supplements are often unregulated and could just be a sugar pill.if not something toxic.)
