My husband is in the Marine Corps.
recruiter is correct in saying to lie and then go to the doctor and say it started. If you do tell the military doctors before you go to boot they may not let you go.
make sure, if you go off the meds it wont affect ur health other than gaining a little weight, which you WILL take off in boot, so dont worry about that! My husband has a slight case of scoliosis, which he shouldnt even joined in the first place, but thats besides the point! If the doctors that checked him out before he went knew he had this problem he wouldnt have been able to go. So, yes, alot of recruits lie.
be VERY careful.if you do get caught its not gunna be fun for you. Anyway! I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do.
be careful! And thank you SOOOOOOO much for wanting to serve your country, it takes alot of strengh and guts to do that. Especially with the Marines.cus u know, they're the sh*t!

Have you considered that if you are Medically DQed, it is for a reason? If you cannot perform the mission, and the mission might not always allow you to be near a source of Synthroid, you just can't serve. It isn't just your life and limb at risk, but the lives and limbs of those in your unit at risk if you cannot perform your assigned tasks.
are some jobs in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines that will accept you with Synthroid.
mostly all of the Reserve components (and the CIA and NSA) will be happy to have you serve with Synthroid.
not see them? Accept your limitations and try to serve within them. It is better to be an honest REMF than a dishonest anything else.
